3G VS. 4G

There is a lot of debate about the 3G and 4G networks and having phones with the 4G capability but having to downgrade back to 3G network because there is not enough 4G service. So at this point with any phone service there are three things in order to get access 1. a network, 2. a device for connecting, and 3. a service plan. The sprint 4G service is available in 62 cities with the network providing adequate coverage on the coasts but it’s not in the middle of country, there are 12 states with no sprint 4G service at all. When you can’t the 4G connection its fallback is to use the sprint 3G network which is based on evolution data optimized technology. It’s available in all 50 states as for the other 3G networks there are huge holes in the upper Midwest and Sprint says that over the next two years it will fill out a national 4G network.
T-Mobile currently offers an upgrade high speed packet access 3G network and AT&T is also busy rolling out high speed packet and is testing long term evolution technology, for a planned commercial 4G rollout over the next two years. As well as Verizon launching its own long term evolution network on a trial basis with limited coverage in 38 cities and 60 airports. The company says the network will be completed nationwide in 2013. I currently have the Sprint HTC EVO 3D phone and because of where I am I can’t access the 4G network. The most frustrating thing to me is having a phone with the capability but because of the technology I can’t use my phone to its fullest capacity. I don’t believe that phones should be made with the 4G capability because of the limited access of the network. Its point less to have the technology to support a faster network connection when the network is not available. So I guess in time the network will be up in running but how fast technology is developing and I believe the next best thing will be out. - Alanna Johnson

i feel the same way. i have a iphone and its a 4g but i feel like its the same speed as when i had the 3g. in my eyes its wrong for companys to say its 4g buts its not yet. thats bad business, i love my phone but there are some things that i could use the extra boost in when im using it. you are 100% right when they figure out how to make it up to the capacity they say it has a new thing will be out. the 3 g came out last year for most phones and now they are pushing 4g what in a few months will it be 5g we will c.

I also argee with you on this topic because for customers on the new 4G networks, straying outside the covered zones could be a serious headache. Verizon has stated it does not plan to let calls placed on its 4G network to roam on its 3G network, which could lead to dropped calls for users moving out of 4G coverage zones. I read this on the the Verizon web site. I feel its all the same right now with 3g and 4g people are just getting tricked.
