Bluetooth
As shown on MOTOACTV.COM, the MOTOACTV is a small light device that is more than just a stylish asset to anyone’s daily exercising routine. This device allows you to track your own workout performance data on their MOTOACTV.com website, by transferring your time, distance, speed and calories burned measured by via Bluetooth, Accusense Technology, accelerometer and precision GPS. Therefore, with this device precisely measuring all the aspects of your data, not only can you see how you are doing and where you are directly on the touch screen display, but you can also analyze how you are doing after your workout sessions. This device also lets you connect to wifi and other Smartphones with Bluetooth v4.0, such as Apple’s IPhone 4S, to allow you to continue to get texts and phone calls (with their stereo Bluetooth headphones). Displayed along with MOTOACTV, is Motorola’s Wireless Sports Headphones that has a heart rate monitor built in as well. Along with this new technology, this device also has a smart music player where it develops high-performance playlists by learning what songs can motivate you, through tracking your performance level against the music.
The other device is the first production of the Bluetooth low energy heart rate built that can be connected with any Bluetooth v4.0 Smartphone or gadget, as displayed on Nordic Semiconductors website. This product is produced by Dayton, the world’s leading developer of wireless sports and fitness monitoring developer and manufacturer, in collaboration with Nordic Semiconductor ASA, who is an ultra low power RF specialist. This device will allow people to monitor their heart rate and is the thinnest wireless heart-rate belt they have produced. It is suppose to last 1.5 years based on typical 1-hour/ day usage conditions.
I choose these two devices because, it shows how Bluetooth is utilized now to enhance sports and fitness devices, to monitor individuals performance. I think this will create a new market where many athletes and individuals will purchase for the ease and comfort these devices provide to monitor and track their performance in their daily workout routines. I believe this also opens the door for Bluetooth to expand into other monitoring equipment used in other industrial fields, such as the medical field to increase the ability to monitor patients’ heart-rates, blood pressure, respiratory rate among other things.
Bluetooth
The second piece of bluetooth technology that I looked at was in the medical field. The product is the foldable bluetooth baby scale. I thought that this product was interesting because it allows the user to easily store data about their new born child. This product developed by Soehnle Professional allows the user to send data straight from the scale to a personal computer in a way to easily track the weight of a new born child. The scale wirelessly transmits the data from the scale and sends it to a personal device to keep help track the progress of your child. This will help improve your day to day life because it will help you stay organized ans keep information of your child electronically. This improvement to technology in the medical field reminded me about when we talked about outsourcing. Hospitals these days are even able to outsource their medical field by sending things such as x-rays, and MRI's overseas and having doctors asses them in places such as India. These new baby scales could be a new way of hospitals keeping in touch with its patients without having the patient to come in but instead send the weight and such through the web. This will not only increase productivity but will make the life of both parents and doctors much more simple.

3G VS. 4G
T-Mobile currently offers an upgrade high speed packet access 3G network and AT&T is also busy rolling out high speed packet and is testing long term evolution technology, for a planned commercial 4G rollout over the next two years. As well as Verizon launching its own long term evolution network on a trial basis with limited coverage in 38 cities and 60 airports. The company says the network will be completed nationwide in 2013. I currently have the Sprint HTC EVO 3D phone and because of where I am I can’t access the 4G network. The most frustrating thing to me is having a phone with the capability but because of the technology I can’t use my phone to its fullest capacity. I don’t believe that phones should be made with the 4G capability because of the limited access of the network. Its point less to have the technology to support a faster network connection when the network is not available. So I guess in time the network will be up in running but how fast technology is developing and I believe the next best thing will be out. - Alanna Johnson
bluetooth
I looked at the Bluetooth.com site. The two that interested me the most was, they have a new Bluetooth app for the iphone. You can track your health through out your phone. And also the hands free phone for your car.
The iphone/ipod, has apps now that you can put a Bluetooth chip in your shoe so when you are running/ walking it will send what your heart rate and how much calories you are burning from your work out. I think this is very interesting because a your don’t even no the chip is in your shoe because its so small and It can be pulled up right on your phone/mp3 player. This is new technology that is changing the whole sports market. A few years ago this would be unheard of, no one ever thought this would be possible. After reading about this I want to go out and buy one.
The other one I looked at was the car Bluetooth. Now that the laws have changed in most states prohibiting you to use your phone when you’re driving. This is a great product to use. When someone calls you or your talking to someone on the phone it comes through the car radio. The interesting part is that your phone can be in your pocket, and just because it’s in the car you can answer it thought the radio. A lot of business sales people are using them; most deals are done in the car or on a golf course. You can also answer text messages and write them back thought this Bluetooth product. Most cars have them already installed when you buy the car. But if you have an older car you can buy it at best buy or on the Bluetooth website. My mom bought a new car and it already installed. When im in the car my phone locks right in to. It’s easy to use and not hard to set up. I think this product will save life’s, because most car accident that happen because people are on the phone or texting. Over all the two products I have looked at are great ideas. I can’t wait to see what Bluetooth comes up with in the coming years.

What Steve Jobs Did for Us
I truly believe that the story of Steve Jobs is a story of
inspiration, success and motivation. His innovation has changed the world in a
way that we will be able to see for years to come. His success story focuses on
the challenges in which he had to overcome to become who he became. He was aware of a need that people were
searching and he successfully satisfied that need by addressing it in any way
possible. Steve Jobs can be thanked for the iPod the iPhone, the MacBook’s, and
the iPad. These products are today’s latest essentials and they will be very
important in the business world.
Jobs changed retail by adding products that have lead in
their industries. Its competitors try to match the level of innovation but Steve
jobs made Apple the leading manufacturer for MP3 players, Laptops Pads and
Phones.
Music and entertainment has been affected by Steve Jobs
because people now can listen to music anywhere they want and can sink it to
any of their devices through iTunes. ITunes makes it easy for anyone to
download music, movies and even listen to radio broadcasts.
Business has been affected
in such a big way. You see people using iPads in meetings instead of a laptop
or writing down notes. Business is affected by this even if they are not Apple
users because competitors update and try to innovate to compete with Apple and these
changes the way business runs all over the world.
Education has been effected positively by the innovations of
Steve Jobs because as a student I can see how convenient it is to have a Mac,
in the last 3 years I have never had a virus on my MacBook, I have never had an
issue with my iPod and now I just upgraded to an iPhone, it influences my
education because it keeps me organized and updated with the latest technology
trends which is good for me because I will be able to understand technology in
the future if I am always up to date and using the latest technology for my
education.
Steve Jobs allowed us through his ideas to be able to multi
task and do more with our lives, his struggles show us that anyone can have a
dream and use the “thinking out of the box” technique to change the world.

Steve Job's
Steve Job’s life is a unbelievable story which people should be inspired from. Steve Job’s was one of the smartest and most powerful person to ever live. He accomplished and overcame a great deal in his life that no one would have ever expected especially with his background. He was a cancer survivor; a college drop out, as well as him being fired from his own company. Steve Job’s life is beyond what anyone could ever dream; he started his own company from scratch in his garage with one other person. It is now one of the largest and most known companies out there. I find it crazy to believe that one man created an entire system of computers as well as software for these computers that people use today. He changed the whole experience of the internet as well as created his own animated movie company which is one of the greatest movies of all time, Toy Story. Steve Job’s was fired from his own company and still he came back to create a motion pictures called Pixar which he then sold to Apple and regained his job back within the company. Nothing could stop this man, from being a college drop out, to being fired from his own creation, to being a cancer survivor, not expected to live more than 6 months, he still pushed through everything and created the greatest technology out there right now. Steve Job’s is a legend and will never be forgotten, he proves that everyone who has a struggle can still overcome it and become a great success.
Steve Jobs
I feel like Steve Jobs is an icon for entrepreneur’s worldwide. Because he started apple in his garage and than turned it in to a multi billion dollar company. He went to college but than dropped out to process his goal in apple. In one of the clips the host was putting Jobs in the same categories, as huge named people in are history. And than said he was a step a head of all them. I feel like he was correct if it was never for Jobs than the computer might not be as easy to use as it is now. He took something that was hard to use and understand and made it so everyone could benefit from use it. Jobs quoted “ windows took Mac’s programs and made it there own” witch I thought was ironic because I had a dell for a while with windows on it but than moved up and bought a Mac book, which also has Microsoft programs on it. I feel like it senses I had a dell for so long I got accustom to how that windows worked. But now that I have a Mac is a lot easier to use. Because on your keyboard it’s all about “command” something, witch on a dell everything was laid out for you. I love my Mac book better than any other laptop I have had.
Jobs took over the retail world for computers, music devices, and cell phones. He made it so simple to put mp3 music from a cd to your computer to your ipod or iphone. All of the products that he produced are in demand in all parts of the world. Even though apple products are on the higher end of the price chart, you are paying for not just the name but also the service. Any problems you have with any of their products you can go to any apple store and they will help u fix it for free, if you still have a warranty. Places like best buy or other company’s make you jump though hoops to get it fixed. Most of the time you need to ship it to the manufacture to fix and wait up to a month to get it back. Throughout Jobs life he had ups and downs but everyone will always remember him as one of the best. Frontrunners in are lifetime. And the best entrepreneur in the decade.
Steven Paul Jobs
Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs left behind an amazing legacy. He may in fact be the greatest entrepreneur of all time according to the video, which I very much agree with. Steve was the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. Steve also founded Pixar Animation Studios and Next, which was a computer platform system. As you can tell Steve Jobs was an extremely smart and gifted individual. By watching these videos I learned a whole lot about him that I never knew. For one, I did not have a clue that he got fired from Apple and went on to create two other extraordinary businesses. This just shows the determination Steve had which eventually landed him back at his original position of CEO at Apple Inc. Also, I never knew that he did not graduate from college. When I heard this, it just blew my mind. I had no clue that someone of that intelligence could just not attend college. But then I realized that we were in different times and that was probably normal for some people back then.
Steve Jobs basically created the whole entertainment side of technology. If you look at some early Apple commercial’s you could see what I’m talking about. He took everything a regular pc had, put it on steroids and added things such as music and Photoshop. He created ITunes which made listening and storing music easy. ITunes also made transferring music from your computer to your IPod easy. Itunes was a huge break for Apple because everyone who had a regular pc had to find some program to transfer music to their device and it was very frustrating, ITunes took away these headaches. Due to this, you now see ITunes on almost every computer. This is not the only program Steve Jobs took to the next level; he put Photoshop on the map. Mac’s were a photographer’s dream, it made editing, printing and saving extremely easier. Another thing Steve Jobs was genius at was the way he marketed his products. He knew what to say and when to say it. For example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80sWifG40B0 , in this video he is saying a pc processing system is good but why would you buy that when you can a Mac and get a better processor with more options. Whenever something is out of date they automatically upgrade and make something new, which is why they come out with a new line of products ever October. Apple is hands down the best marketing and retail business in the United States today thanks to Steve Jobs.
The Impact that Steve Jobs has had on our generation is unbelievable. Without him our information and technology systems would be no where as close as they are today. Nothing against Bill Gates but Macintosh blows Windows out of the water. Just think about what we would do today with out Ipods, ITunes, or Photoshop. People would go crazy. Steve Jobs single handedly change information systems for the better. The one lesson I will learn from Steve Jobs is to never give up on something you are determined to do. He showed me that you could change your and everyone else’s life for the better if you put your mind to it.

google docs
I looked at Google docs. I have used it in many of my class’s before, so I had an understanding how to get it started and work. But a few years ago when I learned about it I felt like it would be to hard to understand/ to time consuming. But I was wrong they have a really easy layout to learn and a useful program for group projects. I love using Google docs when im doing a group project because u can post all your information in the layout and all your group members can look at it and change some information and unload it again. I feel like this is a great asset when some of your group members play sports or don’t live on campus. Because you can do it on your own time and when its good for you. Instead of having to go to the library at a certain time to meet with everyone, this program had opened up the world to new technology. Some people still like to meet in person but I feel like world will move to Google docs or something similar. It’s just easy and free, instead of having to buy a flash drive or a storage device that can cost up to 20 dollars. I have jumped on board to the movement of Google doc’s im sure everyone else will soon enough.

Google Docs

This Google application allows you to upload any existing files and includes easy editing. It is mainly used for its ability to share documents with other Google Doc users online. You can choose to share with whoever you want and control who can or cannot see the documents online. It allows multiple users to open, share, and edit documents at the same time. You could share a document to all online users if you choose. Even when documents are publically viewable, all edits made to already-shared documents are automatically republished. You can also post any documents to blog, helping you to receive any feedback from your work. This is a very easy process to benefit all Google Doc users.
The easy online storage benefits users to save all documents in their account. This creates any and all un-needed flask drives or hard drives to save any documents. All documents are organized within folders created by the account users. Having your own Google Doc account is like having your own desktop online. All of your created documents are well organized, safely stored, and available to do whatever you please with them.
This application benefits many individual college students, any study groups, and even companies. It helps to keep things organized and people connected. It helps professors and study groups to share schedules and prepare weekly assignments. Spreadsheets can be used to share deadlines, assignment details, and any feedback. Documents can be shared to anyone at any given time and edited by any members welcomed to view it. College students may be interested in using this application to create any assignments, take any notes, blog any documents, receive any feedback, or create any document; all from any web accessed computer.
Google Docs is like having Microsoft Word for free, online, and with many other benefits and privileges.
Google Docs
When I looked at this website in the eyes of a businesss owner or professional I saw that it could be very useful. It give you a link between another person in which increases your communication. It can be used for so many diffrent professions and in so many ways. For example a construction worker could use it to send drawings or plans to a certain client, while a claims adjuster could communicate with their boss or clients using the forms or documents page. But not only could the receiver view the information, it gives them a chance to edit what they have sent and give the creator any suggestions. This gives the customer or client a sense of having input and will increase the relationship between the people without having to be sitting right next to each other.
What was so interesting about google docs was that it is a sort of free portal between people, in which enchances communication and enables you to send what you please to others with google acounts.

Google Docs
Announced in October 11, 2006, Google has found a solution to the problem of collaborating on projects between users’ online and transferring documents from one computer to another by simply using Google Docs. An innovative, efficient and effective way to use, simply by signing up for a free Gmail email account, Google Docs allows multiple users to create, change, add and delete information simultaneously. Thus, although not in person, it allows a group of team members on a time they agree upon without being physically next to each other.
Through person experience, I have not used this program because, I was unaware of it until I saw a friend of mine using it to complete a PowerPoint presentation, with his other group members who was not with us at the time. I was completely surprised at how easy, fun and organized the process was. The program not only allows everyone to simultaneously get access to the documents, but allows them to assign which slides where whose to complete, by color coding each of the slide with a different color for a different name, which showed when you ran your mouse over the slide in the side bar. I thought to myself how much easier it would have been doing group presentations and papers would have been when I was in high school if this had come out then.
Aside from the ease of sharing information through Google Docs, their newest feature is their apps for Android to be accessible through mobile tablets, where users can access, share and edit their documents at their own convenience no matter where there are, as shown on their Docs Blog. Their blog also shows other news and notes about Google Docs and Sites from the team members working on them.
Blog About Google Docs
Google’s success is largely due to its innovation and creativity that has allowed it to survive the chaos of internet expansion. Its fearlessness has allowed it to undergo growth into completely new areas of internet processing. From simple searching to cloud computing, Google has continued to impress users and investors worldwide. It was thus no surprise when it unveiled Google Docs in 2010, which would allow file sharing of files up to 1 GB per file, to compete with collaborative software provided by Microsoft and IBM. However, unlike Microsoft and IBM, Google Docs does not boast guaranteed performance increases or cost reduction, but rather simplicity and ease. Such has always been the primary mode of differentiation between Google and its competition.
Reviewing the website of Google Docs, a striking similarity is seen in comparison to the Google homepage. Colorful images are arranged with minimal text to create a calm environment. There are no flashy images trying to highlight productivity and speed of collaboration, which indicates a sharp distinction from the other collaborative software providers. Google Docs is not interested in streamlining collaboration across an entire multinational organization; though it likely could, it instead targets the household and small business user. Once registered, users can add, create, or edit documents which are then available to other users who are given access. This service is intended to simplify the complications created by the new level of technology available to users. Rather than e-mailing files, which is flawed in security and easy, users can simply share through a cloud. And yet, surprising there is an area that Google seems to be lacking is a means of communication. There isn’t any chat room or voice communication software integrated with Google Docs, so users are unable to collaborate as effectively. This appears to be a massive competitive gap, but since Google offers its services for free it is understandable that the software capability lags a little behind premium providers.
Google is a surprising organization that spearheaded the discovery capability of the internet by developing the most powerful and expansive search engine on the internet. Google Docs will continue to be an interesting and competitive service. No matter what features it lacks, the simple fact that it is free and allows massive files to be shared almost ensures its ability to survive the competition.
